Ocean Chaos - Oil on Canvas - 8 x 8
My ocean paintings often have a strong sense of order to their composition. However, with this piece, I aimed to capture the untamed nature of the ocean—the raw energy that emerges when wind and strong currents make the waves collide from various angles—creating a chaotic, choppy scene. When I look at this painting, I can almost feel the heavy, salty air and hear the waves roaring along the coastline. I used thick layers of paint to enhance the tactile realism, but also to increase the visual abstraction. This is an effect I really enjoy incorporating into my pieces wherever I can.
