Leaf Peeping - Oil on Canvas - 5 x 7
One of my favorite things about Autumn, is watching the fall foliage reports with anticipation, and then eagerly planning weekend trips to discover both new locations and old favorites. After living in Florida for over a decade, I savor the crispness of the season; being able to fully immerse myself in the colors of Fall is something I will never take for granted. These trips often mean spending hours in the car with my husband, but we treasure these moments as a chance to slow down and reconnect after the busy summer months. This painting was inspired by a quick photo I snapped at sunset after a full day of "leaf peeping." Ironically, the more scenic locations I photographed that day haven’t made it into my paintings yet, but I was drawn to this particular snapshot. It captures the essence of spending the day in the car, watching the leaves pass by through the window—a unique part of the "leaf peeping" experience that I love.
